Civil Partnership Update
It is now nearing the end of the first complete year during which heterosexual couples could enter into Civil Partnerships.
These were secular alternatives to a marriage but they also had the similar advantages and protections.
For example Pre-Partnership Agreements can be entered into just a Pre-Nuptial Agreements for marital situations. This was obviously available previously for same sex Civil Partnership couples but is now available for heterosexual Civil Partnership persons.
As per the usual tenet Pre-Nuptial or Pre-Partnership Agreements are heavily influential even if they are not legally binding per se.
Of course Civil Partners do, akin to Married Partners, have protection and rights under the Intestacy Rules if a Will is not made.
